eds wins further accreditation

17/11/2008

eds add to their growing list of accreditations with the ISO 9001, which is an internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses. The ISO 9001 was first published in 1987 and although it isn't a requirement for companies to have it does however satisfy quality requirements to customers and helps build the relationship between the customer and the supplier. eds have the accredited ISO 9001 and one requirement of the accreditation is to meet the needs and expectations of the customer. Also to gain an ISO 9001, eds have complied with all types of relevant regulations on work they have carried out.

There are many other requirements eds have to deliver to achieve the ISO 9001 such as its commitment to quality, employee capability, resolving customer complaints, forever adding to their quality management system and one of their main focuses is on the customers. eds meet these requirements and aim continuously to meet and clearly understand customer's needs. Further more eds fulfill other necessities to gain the ISO 9001 such as monitoring customer perceptions of the services eds provides.

eds have accreditation from the ISO 9001 in every area of work they do, which consists of Decommissioning, Demolition, Dismantling, Decontamination, Land Remediation, Industrial Services, Asbestos Removal and Asset Recovery. To have been accredited by a world recognised organization in every type of work eds supplies is very uncommon. With eds having this world class accreditation they show levels of quality management systems that have given eds awards from customers for their achievements. An example of an award that eds has received was for a project at Shell Haven Oil Site, which was given for 4 years without any lost time injury.

eds have used quality management systems to put them above other companies competing for projects and this is due to eds using skills that are essential to become accredited by the ISO 9001. Mr. Palin, who is the managing director of eds has spoken on the behalf of eds about how he believes Quality Management Systems have helped eds;

'The Quality Management Systems have allowed eds to expand and develop their knowledge in fulfilling customer needs. Using skills such as monitoring customer perception of eds's services has permitted eds to prevent any problems from recurring and as eds has been using the system for a number of years it has made eds provide their services more efficiently.'
