EDS

Besides having been accredited for the ISO 9001 and the ISO 14001 in each field of work they do, eds have also been accredited in each field of work they do for their Health & Safety Management System. The areas that eds provide services are in Decommissioning, Demolition, Dismantling, Decontamination, Land Remediation, Industrial Services, Asbestos Removal and Asset Recovery The accreditation for this system is called the BS OHSAS 18001:2007.

 The accreditation is given to eds for various reasons such as that eds has to comply with all legislation that is necessary to them. To gain this accreditation eds also have to set targets such as 0.25 lost time accidents per 100,000 hours of man hours, which is a target that has been set by eds. To keep this accreditation eds are continuously improving their health and safety management system.

 This accreditation is not only beneficial for eds it is useful for clients as they can be assured that eds comply with all legislation necessary to what ever task they are doing and that eds always perform to meet any requirements the client may have. This Health & Safety Management System can also be helpful towards the relationship between eds and their customers as they can be assured that eds take out the highest safety measures to prevent injuries to staff, customers and suppliers.

 Some of eds's clients have seen the improvement that the BS OHSAS 1800:2007 has brought to eds and this can be seen through numerous awards eds have been given for their safe working:

• GSK Glaxosmith-which was given award for completing over 1,000,000 man hours with out any incidents.
• British Sugar Safety Award, which was for completing the job with out any injury.
• Shell Oil Refinery gave eds an award for having no injuries on site for the duration of the project, which lasted for 4 years.
• The ROSPA Gold Award was given to eds's for their success in prevention of incidents.
